Brief:
Our client was looking for a better connection to the surrounding garden, more family space at ground floor level and areas to entertain family and friends. Sustainability was a key factor with the oil boiler being replaced with a Ground Source Heat Pump(GSHP) and the original house being insulated to current standards.
Project Details
The house is situated in a prominent position on the village green within a conservation area, the Greenbelt and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Kent. The original property was comprised of a series of extensions created over the course of 300 years which led to a charming space but with low ceilings and dark rooms.
We created a series of spaces that flowed freely and maximised the natural light into the rooms, optimised the views to the garden and gave the client a calm, peaceful and joyful home.
The landscape was a major factor in the design to create a more generous parking area and Swimming pool with large terrace for entertaining.
